Manuel Antonio Hotels
Manuel Antonio National Park is the most popular and visited National Park in Costa Rica. Lined along the coast is a great variety of hotels, vacation rentals, bed & breakfasts, boutique hotels to bakpackers and hostels. Located next to the fishing town of Quepos, where visitors can load up on just about anything you could need during your stay. Grocery stores include the new Walmart owned Maxi Pali offering very competive prices on goods and groceries. A fresh market takes place on Saturday mornings where locals stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables and homemade goodies. A small shopping mall in the center of town has souvenirs, a fish market with a good selection of fresh caught seafood. One the main street are hardware, paint and mechanics as well a realtor offices, dentist and internet cafes.Restaurants vary from tipical Costa Rica food to Mexican, Pizza, chicken, Sushi and steak. Tour adventure companies offer Canopy tours, surfing lessons, Kayak and White Water Rafting, as well as ATV rentals. The town also offers entertainment for surfers, with music and nightlife.
Jaco Beach, Hermosa Beach and Esterillos Beach are some of the beaches closer to San Jose less than a 1-hour drive from Manuel Antonio. Central pacific beaches are long, have black sand beaches with good waves. This is the ideal destination for surfers or young travelers looking to be in the middle of the action. A yearly international surf contest is also held in the nearby Playa Hermosa that attracts a huge number of surfers from all over the globe to this beach. You need to be careful about swimming here, as riptides are quite common along the beach shore. Other local activities include fishing, canopy tours, kayaking and horseback riding and ATV four wheel adventures.
