 Tansplanted Americans, Mark & Karen Whitmire own & operate Costa Rica's La Hacienda Restaurant. Situated right next to Plaza Yara, the façade beckons you to its covered garden terrace and jungle vista, which is pleasantly illuminated at night. 

 The restaurant menu is fusion cuisine at its finest in Costa Rica's Central Pacific area, playing with Latin American, Mediterranean and Asian flavors, but not so staunch as to eliminate favorite more traditional styled international fare in the weekly and daily specials. The annual Chili Cook Off offers many the opportunity to show off their talent in the kitchen. Holiday menus allow for our home cooking of American classics to be mingled with Costa Rica’s exotic and varietals herbs, vegetables and fruits that we are not so accustomed to, thus creating old favorites with new twists.
 
 The extensive and unique wine list was selected to provide great pairings with all dishes. A full bar offers something for everyone and features a tropical martini menu with the many wonderful flavors available in Costa Rica. La Hacienda’s freshly ground Costa Rica coffee is served in the traditional Costa Rican chorreador, the freshest way to have a cup of coffee, and don’t forget to add some Cafe Rica, Costa Rica’s delicious coffee liqueur.
 
 Main Dishes include Mahi Mahi Grilled & topped with fresh tropical fruit salsa, Grilled Beef Tenderloin Covered with red onion marmalade, Coconut Curry dishes, Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Hacienda lean sirloin Hamburger, Sweet & Sour Pork, Penne Pasta, Chicken breast with brandy and tarragon cream sauce, Seafood Tagliatelli, Chicken Marsala, Strip Steak Tacos and more.
