Jaco Costa Rica´s National Surf Circuit Winners

Costa Rica surfing tournament held in Jaco, Central pacific

Siblings Luis and Lisbeth Vindas won the first surfing tournament of the year on Costa Rica´s National Surf Circuit this weekend in Jaco Beach.
 
 Luis gave a strong performance in defending the surfing national title he won last year. He dominated the men’s division of the Oceans by DayStar 2011 tournament on Jaco Beach. Second place Torres Maikol finished more than five points behind Luis in the final results. Lisbeth needed a late rally Sunday to overcome American Jordan Hundley and win the women’s division by .33 points.
 
 "The truth is it was very difficult to win this tournament because I have been working very hard on my surfing school and did not have time to train, but my house is in Jaco, and I know the waves very well," Lisbeth Vindas said.
 
 The next Costa Rica surfing tournament will take place in Palo Seco, Parrita, on Feb. 26 and 27 in front of Hotel La Isla.
