Costa Rica's Sport Fishing Competion in Herredura

The calm waters around Los Suenos Marina in Costa Rica's Central pacific offers one of the best fishing in the world.

The second leg of the sport fishing competition is scheduled for March 2-5.

The calm waters around Los Suenos Marina proved once more to be one of the best fishing in the world. There is good reason why amongst sport fishing enthusiasts the Los Suenos tournaments are considered to be among the finest. Terrific teams, excellent fishing and good fun in a setting beyond compare.

In 2010, 43 teams from the United States, Nicaragua and Russia entered the tournament releasing a total 1,014 billfish during Costa Rica's six day fishing competition.

The catch-and-release tournament will take place outside Los Suenos Marina, located next to Jaco Beach. Fishermen will compete for marlins and sailfish. Top boats receive trophies and cash prices. The Costa Rica event is sanctioned by both the World Billfish Series and the International Game Fish Assn.

Registrants can still sign up to compete in this week’s tournament. The entry fee is $7,000 per boat per tournament or $10,000 per boat for both fishing events.
