This perennially popular Costa Rica bar and restaurant near Jaco, has some of the most modern and comfortable rooms in Playa Hermosa. Although they're pretty pricey for what you get, the two-story building features spacious rooms with dark red terra-cotta tile floors and simple furnishings.

The second-floor rooms are definitely nicer than those on the ground floor. The oceanfront end units are classified as suites. They are a bit bigger and do have excellent ocean view of Playa Hermosa. The small pool features a little sculpted rock waterfall and is quite refreshing on the hot days. Despite the physical upgrade, this place is still quintessentially a surfer joint.
