Costa Rica Bus Schedule - San Jose to Jaco, Manuel Antonio, Quepos

  There are two new types of bus routes from Jaco on Costa Rica's Central Pacific coast. If you need to go to the airport from Jaco Beach please make sure you tell the ticket seller. Due to the new highway, there are now two new routes to San Jose. The old route, now considered the “direct” route takes the new Caldera highway directly to San Jose via Ciudad Colon. It does not make the Alajuela stop for the San Jose airport. If you want to take the time you get go this route and andthen catch a bus from the Coca Cola station to the airport. If you are pressed for time, you should make sure you have the correct route. Even the locals are still confusion about what is a “direct”, “express”, and “normal” route. During busy days, The buses add “Extras” which is another bus leaving usually 30 minutes after the standard scheduled bus.
 
 If you are confused and can speak decent Spanish, call the bus station at the numbers below. Once again, if you are going to use the bus to get to the airport, please double check your bus route with the ticket seller.
 
 Bus leaves exactly as scheduled - do not be late 
 *Approx travel time each way is 2 hour 45 mins (old route)
 *Express buses usually leave directly from the station in Jaco and DO NOT travel through town for pickups
 *Do not depend on bus if your flight leaves within 3 hours of schedule bus arrival – traffic varies greatly

 In SJO: At Coca Cola Bus Station ask “dónde está la taquilla Jaco” it is located in the same area where the buses wait.
 In Jaco: Behind Pizza Hut you can buy tickets. If you are leaving early in the morning buy your tickets the day before or if you depart on a Sunday or a holiday buy them a few days ahead of time, they sell out quickly.
