Join us on a covered Boat Tour through the complex and beautiful estuary system
of Damas Island. Our boats are eco-friendly and designed for your security and
comfort once aboard our naturalist interpreter’s will describe a variety of
biological relationships between many organisms in this delicate habitat, such
as white faced monkeys, herons, snakes, crocodiles, iguanas, just to name a few!
Costa Rica's Isla Damas features three types of mangrove forests connected by a
myriad of choked and hidden waterways. Guests on this highly recommended tour
are often rewarded with sightings of white-faced monkeys, giant anteaters,
three-toed sloths, exotic bird species, alligators, boa constrictors, rare
crab-eating raccoons, and the list goes on.
A covered motor boat takes you on a cooling ride through the twisted and
tangled tunnels of dense mangrove. With each turn you go deeper and deeper into
a mysterious and intriguing landscape where each vista seems like a
prize-winning image. The tour includes transportation to and from Jaco or
Quepos, as well as a delicious lunch served in a local restaurant at Isla Damas.
